If your marketing feels scattered—or invisible—you’re not alone.
Many founders jump into tactics too soon, hoping for traction without the clarity that strategy provides.
The good news? You don’t need to overhaul everything to reset your strategy.
Just start by answering these six questions pulled directly from my 30-Minute Marketing Strategy Canvas—a simple tool I use with founders to bring structure and sanity to their marketing.
Where is there an opportunity?
Where is demand growing, unmet, or underserved? This isn’t about where everyone is—it’s about where you can create meaningful value.
What does the total market look like?
Beyond industry or demographics, what values, needs, or behaviors define your best-fit customers? Which segments are not only attractive—but realistic for you to serve well?
Why are you targeting and what will it take?
Which segment are you prioritizing, and what does your ideal customer truly look like? Where are your real challenges to converting them?
Why should they choose you?
What do you want them to think when they think of you? What makes you meaningfully different?
What makes your brand distinct and relatively different?
How will your brand look and behave to help your audience recognize and trust you?
How will know you’re winning?
What journey do your buyers go through? What are your 2—3 related objectives this year and how will you know you’re on track?
